Marin Star Limousine is based in Mill Valley. Our chauffeurs live in Marin: across San Anselmo, San Rafael, and Novato. The roads on this page are the ones we drive on the weekends when we are not working.
The advantage of a Marin-based chauffeur company shows up in three places. First, response time: we are typically the closest fleet to any Marin pickup. A 9:00 PM call for a Sausalito-to-SFO pickup at 5:30 AM the next morning is something we can pre-position for; the SF-based dispatch services have to send a car across the Golden Gate, which adds 25 minutes and risks the timing. Second, route knowledge: Lucas Valley Road from Nicasio to San Rafael is faster off-hours than the 101 north exit, but only off-hours. Third, venue access: we know which gate at Cavallo Point at Fort Baker handles wedding deliveries (the lower west, not the main entrance through the parade ground).

Mill Valley
Our base. Pickups and drop-offs across Mill Valley proper, Strawberry, Tam Valley, Cascade. Common trips: SFO transfers (38 min off-peak), Cavallo Point arrivals, the Mountain Home Inn on Mt. Tam for anniversary dinners.
Sausalito
Houseboat pickups on Liberty Ship Way and the residential houseboats. Cavallo Point. The Spinnaker for dinner. SFO is 32 minutes off-peak from downtown Sausalito.
Tiburon & Belvedere
Tiburon Boulevard residential pickups. Sam's Anchor Cafe for the brunch crowd. Belvedere Island estates. The ferry terminal for occasional transfers.
Corte Madera, Larkspur, Greenbrae
Marin Country Mart in Corte Madera. The Larkspur ferry terminal for SF commute alternatives. Mount Tamalpais High in Mill Valley borders these towns.
San Anselmo, Ross, Kentfield
The wealthier inland towns. Tree-lined residential pickups. Ross School District events. Kent Middle School for parent transport during big events.
Fairfax & West Marin
Fairfax town center. Sir Francis Drake Boulevard west to Lagunitas. Bolinas Lagoon, Stinson Beach, Muir Beach. Point Reyes Station for the Pinnacle Cove and Tomales Bay oyster crowd.
San Rafael
The Marin County Civic Center. Marin General Hospital. Northgate Mall area. Downtown San Rafael restaurants. San Rafael is the county seat; we run regular trips to the courthouse and civic events.
Novato
The northern edge of Marin. Hamilton, Bahia, Marin Country Club area. Stafford Lake. Common as the last Marin pickup before pivoting to Napa or Sonoma routes.

The closer the fleet, the better the timing.
The 5:30 AM SFO pickup from Sausalito is the canonical Marin chauffeur trip. A Marin-based fleet is already in Marin overnight; the dispatch sends the chauffeur from his home in San Anselmo at 4:45 AM and he is in your driveway at 5:25. An SF-based fleet sends a chauffeur from a depot in SoMa or the Mission, across the Golden Gate at 4:45 AM (light traffic, 25 minutes), to your driveway at 5:30 if everything goes right. Most of the time it goes right. Sometimes it does not.
This proximity advantage is invisible until the morning of the trip. Then it is everything.
